The Zip Component allows you to easily compress or uncompress files within a control-flow. The user interface is shown below :



You simply select an action and variables containing the source and destination content. You can use ZIP and GZip protocols, and ZIP passwords are supported.

When converting between string and binary content, the default system encoding is used by default. You can override this by specifying an explicit Encoding in the Visual Studio / BIDS Properties window.
